Love Yourself And Your Confidence Will Grow

If you can learn to love yourself, your confidence will grow. It will take time and practice, but I promise you it gets better. We often forget to spend the time to appreciate ourselves which can greatly affect our moods.

My journey with anxiety has been quite an eventful one. I think like most people that have experienced any level of anxiety would say the same.

No day is the same, yet some how it is. It’s a bizarre feeling to try and explain to someone.

I know now that I’ve had anxiety for longer than I have been recently diagnosed for. There were many signs along the way that I ignored in the hope that I was ‘normal’.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS ‘NORMAL’

What is ‘normal’ anyway? It’s such a strange concept. Does normality even exist? Think about it for a minute. What I consider normal could be completely outrageous to you, yet completely normal to me.

Never the less, the turbulence of my emotions ached for my return to my version of normality. A state of mind and being that I was familiar and comfortable with.

I spent a long time pretending to be someone I wasn’t because I felt ashamed. There were many factors involved in this which I will go into another time, but all you really need to know for now is that I was not happy with myself.

It took years to get to a place where I finally accepted the version of me I was born to be and not some fabricated version of the person I thought I was or expected to be.

What I’m trying to say, is being yourself is enough. You don’t need to impress people, and you certainly don’t need to go out of your way to make people like you. Love yourself and your confidence will continue to grow.

At the end of the day, does it really matter what people say about you behind your back? it used to bother me, and honestly sometimes does still. But I’ve learned to let the anger go. Truthfully, I’m still learning. We as humans are always learning. As with many things in life, it is easier said than done.

LEARN TO LET GO OF THE PAST AND LOVE YOURSELF IN THE PRESENT

There have been people I was once close to in my past that hurt me so badly, I thought I would spend the rest of my life trying to put the pieces of my mind and soul back together.

I don’t hold grudges against these people, and I’m not going to name names. They know who they are, and they know what they did. It shaped me in becoming the stronger person I am today by not only writing this post, but starting this blog at all.

There will always be people that have bad things to say about others, but you must remember that these individuals have their own demons they are fighting and sometimes their insecurities take over. Much like mine did, and I am willing to wager yours do too at times.

If we can learn to let go of what other people’s perceptions of us are or what we think they are, we will eventually start to build our confidence more and more.

Take a step back once in a while and evaluate your feelings. When you are able to observe your feelings without judgement, we begin to see a clearer picture of how we view ourselves.

YOU ARE WORTHY

Do your best, but most importantly love yourself. You’re more special than what you give yourself credit for.

And if there are people in your life doing you more harm than good, then you need to let them go. It’s difficult, and it’s hard but I guarantee you it will be the best thing for your physical and mental well-being.
