It’s been an interesting few months dealing with anxiety and depression. I’m glad to say I’m finally getting back on track.
I’ve been on top of my medications and appointments with my Psychologist and Psychiatrist. It has been a long and bumpy road to get to where I am today.
I’m lucky enough to have the amazing support of my friends and family as I have tried to get through this time in my life.
There was a moment where it was quite dark for a while and I didn’t think there would be light at the end of a very ominous tunnel.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
The medication seems to be working wonders. One of the only side effects I’m getting is that it makes me hungry so I’m going to have to keep an eye on my weight. Perhaps it’s a great excuse to get back to exercising again.
It was only a few weeks ago it seems that I hurt my ankle. I overdid some jogging and sprained my ankle. It wasn’t too badly damaged and healed nicely after about a week. The only thing is I lost all my hard work leading up to my sprain.
I’ll just have to start over.
I also was able to meet my best friend for coffee. Something I haven’t been able to do in months because I have been too frightened of crowds.
This is a massive milestone for me. I truly found it so difficult being around people so to sit in a coffee shop was an impressive moment for me.
It can and does get easier. I am living proof of it. Some days are going to be harder than others, but the day will always come to an end and you try again the next.
Do something that makes you smile, even if it’s something small like having coffee with a friend, reading your favourite book or watching your favourite movie.
All of the small things you do add up over time and will help improve your mood.
I hope you are all staying safe and well.
