My Anxiety Journal: April 7th 2021

Today I had an appointment with my Psychologist and my GP.

Both appointments went rather well.

They both seemed to be impressed that I’m taking my medication as prescribed.

It’s been a hard few months with medication. I’ve been scared to take it ever since my experience taking PrEP. But I’ve seemed to have gotten over that hurdle.

Apart from seeing my health professionals, I just worked.

Wasn’t too much of a difficult day with work and managed to get quite a lot done. Something to be proud of when you suffer from anxiety and depression.

It’s been a good few days all round I think. I haven’t felt the need to email my Psychiatrist, even though he said that I could email at any time.

My Psychiatrist has been really good. If it wasn’t for him, I don’t think I’d be taking the medication that I need to take to function properly day to day.

I’m so tired as I write this.

The medication that I take at night makes me really sleepy now. The dose I was on previously didn’t seem to do all that much so my Psychiatrist increased it.

It seems to be working a treat now and I’m able to get a decent nights sleep without waking up. If I do wake up, it’s usually just to use the bathroom.

I’m really grateful for the support of my Mum and Dad. They have really been a rock for me during this rough time.

I’ve moved back home, which had been an absolute blessing. I do what I can around the house and pay board. I think they enjoy my company as much as I enjoy theirs.

As always, I hope you are all well and are keeping safe.
